Born in 1962, in Toronto. Susan Wallis is represented by Gallery Saint-Dizier since 2008. She graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor in Art History & Visual Arts from Toronto University. She works with the ancient medium of encaustics, which is a mixture of heated wax mixed with pigment. Her encaustic technique allows her to express colour and form as in opposition and superimposition in a bold way that oil paint cannot. Her muse is the Canadian landscape. Paying homage to the birch tree without being weighed down by the tradition of landscape painting, her art is a rendered dynamic energy based in contemporary revisionism. Susan Wallis is actively exhibiting across Canada.
